“The highest philosophy is the philosophy of oneness” – Sri Chinmoy.

The body is comprised of trillions of cells. Each cell is made of atoms. The atom is 99.9999999999996% space. This means we are mostly empty space in constant motion! Quantum physicists have conducted experiments where the outcome changes based on whether it is observed, not interrupted, or touched in any way, just observed. Perpetually in motion until we are involved. I wonder what this means for the state of our reality.

We are receivers, taking in information from all we see, hear, taste, touch, and smell and interpreting it with our conditioned ego lens unless we have learned to go deeper and perceive from our innate place of oneness. We create our reality through our perception.

I tried an experiment where I concentrated on a single body part and gave it my full attention; Eckhart Tolle refers to this as the inner body, Chinese philosophy as Qi, and Indian mystics as Prana. When bringing my awareness to it, sure enough, I could sense its aliveness. The more I paid attention, the more pronounced it became. I did this exercise on several body parts and experienced the same result each time. The body is always breathing; pay attention to it, and you can feel the flow of life. The body is always in motion; pay attention to it, and you can feel the energy of the universe.

Everything we see comes from stardust, including ourselves. We all share the exact origin but see ourselves as separate. The separation comes from our egos, nurtured to believe we are not one. This belief in separation promotes differentiation with, among other things, religion, politics, and race. It promotes the hatred that seems so prevalent today.

Why did the egos get so out of hand? Why did our Qi get buried, and how do we dig our way out? I believe it is by not seeing others as the enemy, from prominent examples such as countries to everyday living, when you feel slighted by someone. Letting go of that negative energy allows it to be replaced by compassion for the souls that are one with us but lost in their negative egoic realm.  The more of us who can infuse the world with positivity, the more it will catch on and the more of a difference we can make.

In retirement, I will continue to work on releasing my grievances and acknowledging our oneness. Although this release is a work in progress, it has already made my spirit lighter, and with practice, it will be life-changing.
